Lindblom Teacher Apprentice Program
Program Overview
The Lindblom Teacher Apprentice Program pairs 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students with a practicing teacher so they can observe, support, and contribute to the classroom environment. The program was started seven years ago by Lindblom teacher Molly Myers, and has grown from 9 apprentice teachers in its first year to over 150 today. The Lindblom Teacher Apprentice Program seeks to:
  • Provide an opportunity for teacher apprentices to develop their leadership, collaboration, personal responsibility, and reflection skills, as well as their expertise in a particular content area.
  • Provide 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th grade students will peer mentors and role models in the classroom.
  • Expose LTAs to the challenges, rewards, and craft of teaching.
  • Provide mentor teachers with assistance and support in the classroom.

Application Information
The application to be an LTA for the 2020 - 2021 school year is now open - HERE is the link! 

Any current 9th, 10th, or 11th grade student can apply; they must have room in their schedule for their LTA class and have two Lindblom teachers who are willing to recommend them. If you are interested in learning more about the program from current LTAs, please attend an info session after school on January 7, 2020.

NOTE: Students CANNOT be an LTA for more than one class or department. They will be required to choose ONE department when they apply.

The application is due on January 24; late applications will not be accepted. Potential candidates will be interviewed in early February. Email Ms. Hollerbach with any questions!
